Marketing Professional + VISUAL Artist

Jennifer Hunold is an emerging leader in New York’s Capital Region marketing, communications, and creative communities, and a champion of women’s opportunities in the workplace. Originally from Iowa, she has been a Capital Region resident since 2006, working in marketing and business development for over a decade.

Repeating hand-drawn arcs in pastels

Jennifer's upbringing in a small town instilled in her a tenacious work ethic and an unwavering commitment to lifelong learning, which has been the hallmark of her success.

She earned a BFA from the University of Iowa, benefiting from the expansive studies offered at the Big Ten institution. There, she cultivated her skills in painting and drawing while exploring literature, language, the history of pop culture and sexuality, and body art and adornment.

Jennifer then relocated to New York to pursue an MFA from the University at Albany, refining her artistic sensibilities, research capabilities, and critical thinking. This further nurtured her creative instincts, serving as a foundation for achievement in her professional pursuits.

The distinctive power of a creative discipline proved invaluable as Jennifer navigated the business world during the Great Recession. Her artist's training enabled her to transform critique into improved products, sum up in writing something that by definition is best expressed without words, and deepen her “roll-up-your-sleeves, get-your-hands-dirty” work ethic.

Colored pencil drawing with pastel abstract forms glowing from within

Leveraging these assets, Jennifer consistently demonstrated her comprehensive assessment skills and solutions-oriented approach. Coupled with her ability to build relationships, understand processes and operations, and navigate the often nebulous path from idea generation to business results, Jen has rapidly advanced at each company she worked.

Currently, Jennifer leads the Albany office of The Martin Group, an integrated marketing and communications firm with offices across New York State and a presence in New York City. As the office's general manager, she fosters business relationships and oversees numerous clients and award-winning projects. Jennifer is also a founding employee of the Albany office, which opened in 2018 and has experienced remarkable growth with a 400% staff increase and 800% revenue growth from 2019 to 2022.

In addition to her professional commitments, Jennifer actively engages in community volunteerism. She served as a founding board member of Collar Works, a Women@Work advisory board member, and a mentor for The College of Saint Rose's BOLD Women’s Leadership Network. Jennifer resides in Troy with her husband.
